Getting started

Choose a question, rather than a whole programme.

What can I explore on BeyondWake?

BeyondWake offers educational guides about remembered dreams, lucid dreaming and experiences around falling asleep or waking. You can explore a term, compare practices or read a focused article. The Explore catalogue is a useful place to find the subject closest to your question.

Where should I begin if I am completely new?

Start with what you want to understand. If you would like to remember more of your dreams, the Dream Recall guide offers a simple starting routine. If you are curious about recognising a dream while it happens, begin with the Lucid Dreaming introduction before comparing individual methods.

Do I need an account to read the guides?

No. The public guides, articles, glossary and research notes can be read without logging in. You can also use the blank journal template for your own notes. Reading these resources does not require the BeyondWake application or a newsletter subscription.

Is there a recommended order for reading?

There is no compulsory sequence. For an interest in lucid dreaming, a practical reading path is the introduction, Dream Recall and Dream Journaling, followed by the Protocols catalogue if you want to compare methods. You can return to a definition or skip to a question at any point.

Can I use the site without practising lucid dreaming?

Yes. Curiosity is enough. The articles and experience guides can help you describe or understand something you remember, without making a practice routine your next step. You can keep personal notes, read about a subject or simply leave a question open.

Guides & sources

Know what you are reading, and what a source can support.

What is the difference between Explore, Protocols and Learn?

Explore explains experiences and helps you find a starting point. Protocols describes individual practices, their requirements and limitations. Learn brings together focused articles, research notes and the glossary. They are connected so you can move from an explanation to a more specific question.

How does BeyondWake choose its sources?

For research claims, we prefer identifiable original studies and useful research reviews. A technique creator's tutorial can explain the intended procedure, but it is not independent evidence of effectiveness. Our Methodology page explains how we check claims, describe access limits and handle corrections.

Are the practical suggestions themselves research findings?

Not necessarily. A journal template, worked example or review question can be an editorial aid. Unless a suggestion is explicitly identified as part of a study, it should not be read as a tested programme. A source link supports a particular statement in context, rather than every element of the page.

What if the evidence is uncertain or sources disagree?

Look at the exact question each source addresses, the people studied, the measurements and the limitations. Different designs may support different conclusions. Our research notes keep those details visible where relevant. An unresolved question can remain unresolved; you do not need to choose a stronger explanation than the evidence supports.

Are the examples and illustrations documented dream reports?

Worked dream entries are illustrative examples and are labelled accordingly. The visual scenes illustrate a topic or atmosphere; they are not presented as research participants, testimonials or proof of an experience. Where a guide discusses a study, its findings are attributed to that source.

Personal notes & privacy

Keep the record useful, and the meaning yours.

Can I use a paper notebook or voice notes?

Yes. The journal guide can be used with a notebook or a recording method of your choice. Choose a format that makes it comfortable to capture and revisit what you remember. Consider who can access the place or service where you keep your notes, especially if they include personal details.

Do I have to remember a complete dream to make a note?

No. A fragment can be worth recording: a place, a feeling, an image or a single remembered sentence. You can say that the memory is incomplete instead of filling the gaps. The Dream Recall and Dream Journaling guides include examples that leave room for partial memories.

Will BeyondWake tell me what my dream means?

The website does not offer an individual dream reading or a universal dictionary of symbols. Our guides suggest ways to distinguish what you remember from your later reflections and possible personal associations. You can notice recurring details without treating them as a diagnosis, prediction or objectively correct interpretation.

Does using a guide send my dream notes to BeyondWake?

The public guides do not contain a dream-entry upload form. Reading a guide or copying its blank template does not submit a dream record to us. If you send information through Contact, the details you choose to send are part of that message. Keep private dream records out of general enquiries unless they are necessary for the question.

Contact & feedback

A clear question helps us find the right page or issue.

Who is responsible for BeyondWake?

BeyondWake is a Pawlina Limited product. Our About page explains the purpose of the website and publication responsibility. We do not claim a research affiliation, endorsement or independent medical review unless it is actually documented.

Can I suggest a topic or report an error in a guide?

Yes. Use Contact to suggest a question or flag a specific error. For a correction, include the page address, the wording in question and a relevant original source if you have one. Topic suggestions help us understand what readers are looking for; they do not guarantee that a new guide will be published.

Can I send a dream for personal or medical advice?

Contact is for project enquiries and editorial feedback. BeyondWake does not provide personalised diagnosis, treatment or emergency support, and this channel does not offer private dream interpretation. Please avoid sending intimate dream records or detailed health information with a general question.

How can I report a website or accessibility problem?

Use Contact and include the page address, what you were trying to do and what happened. Your browser and device can help us understand the issue. For an accessibility problem, describe the obstacle in your own words and tell us how you were navigating the page. Avoid including passwords or private account details.
